Password Application: An Effective Security System Method for Privacy and Safety

A password is a code needed as an input in order to unlock, activate or deactivate a password protected file and or unit. We use passwords as security systems in order to achieve confidentiality of our account and also to protect it from the access of other people. We are very particular with the password primarily because we do not want other people to be putting a finger on our documents and or other files that we consider confidential.

Passwords are used as access code in order to grant access to a person to be able to enter a facility such as homes and buildings that has sensitive matters in them. Vaults can also be password protected in order to lessen or regulate the people who would be having the access to the said amenity.

"The Right to Privacy"

It is one of the many rights that we have as a human being. We are vested the right to become private individuals and as an autonomous body that is a part of the total aggregate mass of the human populace. To protect this privacy, we need to ensure that no other people can gain access to our things which we do not want them to.

Many homes nowadays have security systems that can be deactivated only when a password is supplied. This is more efficient than the traditional lock and key. If entry is gained without the proper password, then the alarm system will go off, alerting people around the area and the authorities of the crime being committed.

Why do we need a password?

We need to have a password to any of our things (homes, businesses, personal computer, etc…) because of the following reasons:

1. Because we think we need privacy- a person can use a password that only he knows.
2. Because we think that there are sensitive details contained in the stuff that we consider as confidential.
3. Because we don't want other people to put any modifications to the files that we have.
4. We want to minimize access to the device or amenity or place.
5. We want to secure a place and our properties.

How effective can using a password be?

A password's efficiency will depend on the user that has made it. If the person wants the documents to be viewed exclusively by him then only he must know the password. The person that has made the password must always bear in mind that he must remember the password. This is very important primarily because some security system may terminate access after several tries of entering wrong passwords.

A password can only be an effective agent for a security system if and when the authorized people who know the password would be discrete about it. When unauthorized people gained knowledge about it, they must act fast on changing the code in order to avoid intrusion to the files or things.

Are passwords reliable?

Yes, passwords are reliable enough. The question would rather be "are you reliable enough not to reveal the password to others?"

A password security system is a reliable method to use for confidentiality; however its effectiveness would also rely to the capacity of the person to hide it.
