Reliability of a Security System
A security system is a risk management method that is adapted for safety and protection. This may be in form of guidelines, precautions, safety measures, house rules, and devices for safety such as a fire alarm, burglar alarm, smoke alarm and passwords and insurance as well.
This covers security for a number of things that we want to be kept safe. Security systems are not just for homes. They can be for our car, our computer, our offices and such. Each of them are devised with methods that will ensure safety as well as privacy.
1. Guidelines, precautions, house rules or safety measures- these are write-ups that are established to regulate act and events in a certain period of time under a certain circumstance. Guidelines usually are standards that are established in order to manipulate and condition a person of what is expected to do. This is the same as house rules.
2. The fire alarm is a type under security system where in it is concerned with the sensory of the presence of flame in the vicinity. It belongs to security system primarily because the fire alarm would siren that signals the presence of a large flame that may threaten the life of the people that are living in the said place. Some fire alarms are connected to the fire department of the area, thus immediate action may be done by firemen in order to lessen the risk of having the place burned to ashes.
3. Burglar alarm- as the phrase says "BURGLAR", which means people who intrudes or trespasses into someone else's property with an intention to commit a crime, usually theft. A burglar alarm may be connected to the police station via optic fibers that are tamper resistant. The moment that the burglar breaks in, the alarm is activated and the police are given immediate signal to locate the place and catch the culprit.
4. Smoke alarm- this type of alarm is similar to the fire alarm only that the sensor used for this alarm is for exhaust or smoke. Some even avail for an additional installation of sprinklers on the ceiling so that in case of fire there would be water to extinguish the flame or may be to hole the flame temporarily until the fire rescue team comes.
5. Passwords- can be codes of number combination, letter combination, or alphanumeric combination. This is usually used to protect files and or limit access to places and amenities for privacy or any other sensitive reasons.
There are different types of security system. And they are as mentioned above.
How reliable are these types of security system?
1. Guidelines, precautions, house rules and safety measures- these are very reliable set of write-ups to follow because this states the possible instance that may threaten the life of a man. The situation has been anticipated and has been carefully assumed so that they may not happen.
2. Alarms fire alarm, smoke alarm, burglar alarm)- are reliable forms of a security system, however in rural areas, they are quite ineffective since the distance between neighbors are quite large, thus an alarm could possibly not be heard by the neighbors.
3. Passwords-is a very reliable security system method employed especially to new technologies such as cellular phones, personal computers, high-tech facilities etc.
